Alison is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a Board Certified National Clinical Counselor and is currently working towards certification as an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Southern Maine and completed inpatient and outpatient internships at Maine Medical Center.

Alison enjoys working with adults to improve their lives in rich and transformative ways. Particular areas of focus include relationships, sexual intimacy, attachment issues, grief, trauma, anxiety and depression, parenting issues and spiritual growth. She has received specialized training in hypnotherapy and attachment issues (including dissociative disorders) from Daniel Brown, PhD, of Daniel Brown and Associates, and Relational Life Therapy training from Terry Real of the Relational Life Institute. Alison also incorporates the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, David Schnarch and Brian Weiss into her counseling.

Alison has an optimistic attitude and positive life perspective which she brings to her counseling practice. She is known for her empathy, warmth and positive energy and has a passion for working with people on a deep level to bring meaning, peace and joy into their lives. Alison loves being with family and friends, yoga, boating, skiing, traveling to warm climates, and reading about awakening consciousness and spirituality. She has been happily married for many years and has two wonderful teenage sons.
